Managing the HSE Enforcement Expectation for Welding Fume

Updated: Mar 1

Following the statement from HSE ( Health and Safety Executive) s.

There has been new scientific evidence from International Agency for Research on Cancer, that exposure to all welding fume, including mild steel welding fumes, can cause lung cancer and limited evidence linking to kidney cancer in humans. The Workplace Health Expert Comittee has endorsed the reclassification of mild steel welding fume as a human carcinogen.

With immediate effect, businesses will need to ensure any exposure to all welding fumes released is controlled using fume extraction units. To ensure they are provided for all welding activities no matter the duration of the weld.

To help you manage the new enforcement from HSE we have a range of Kemper Fume Extraction Units to fit every welding application.
